October 2003, Two Man Team Event, Tunstall, Norfolk UK
'Team IT' embark on their first team event. The Saturday was spent with blue_smoke (number 137) doing alot of 'race prep' having travelled 200 miles for the event. All I did (enduro - number 37) was fit a new DEP pipe, lube the chain and fill up with fuel. (I think you can see where this is going!) The day was split into two, 30 min sessions in the morning, and two 30 min sessions in the afternoon per team rider. I was out first, blue_smoke second. During his first session he lost the silencer from his bike - quick return to pits and repairs with large zip ties! The following two morning sessions were OK (although spot the 'how NOT to land from a jump pic!!)

During the first afternoon session for blue_smoke his bike started to revs its bits off as if the throttle was stuck open. Another return to pits to investigate while I did my session. Blue_smoke tried to fix the problem, assuming a carb fault. The carb was OK, so when I came in from session we added a '1' to my number and blue_smoke did his last session on my 465.

Final result? In a field of 37 clubmen we came 36th!!!

It was bad luck with blue_smokes 465, It turned out that the base gasket had given up the ghost, sucking in air.

Next event is the True Grit Enduro, North Yorks Feb 2004
